Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Brunswick area vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • In the Brunswick area area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by having your group agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. MOTHER'S DAY SPECIAL! Beautiful home & area near restaurants, shops & the beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many difficulties.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
