Tips and Tricks for getting the best Brunswick area rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Reserve your rental home in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.

Selecting and booking the best Brunswick area vacation home:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Work? Play? Wedding? 5 ? Stay in Historic District has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's an individual Brunswick area attraction you are crazy about, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
