Tricks and tips to get the very best Brunswick area vacation rental experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking a perfectrental home:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Riverwalk Sunsets - On the Water has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
