Plan for a low or falling tide for the best resultso The Jetty is about 2 miles from the home on the far west end. It is a fun walk (that’s the only way to get there) and many times we find starfish, sand dollars. You can walk around the jetty and join the boaters picnicking and partying during pretty weather. Along the way watch for a mailbox in the dunes called “Kindred Spirit”. Plan to sit and appreciate the notes left by others or leave your thoughts on one of the notebooks you will find there.o At the East end- very close to us, the treasure hunting is fun- It looks like you could walk to Ocean Isle but beware, the tide comes in fast and is very strong.o Bikes are a good activity and can be rented on the island.o The pier has a nominal cost but is fun to check out the fishermen and their catch.o Across the bridge Oyster Bay golf course has multiple roadside ponds and lakes.
