Grinder’s Cafe

Patrons who want to settle in for a warm cup of coffee on a well-worn and soft couch, or who crave an easy bite to eat in a relaxing coffee house setting, will find a lot to love about Grinder’s Café. This small coffee shop specializes in letting patrons sit back and relax, and boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels a little retro, but undeniably welcoming.

Grinders is found close to UNCW along Wrightsville Avenue, which makes it a cozy destination for the local college crowd. The café is outfitted with a collection of booths, tables, and couches, with walls that are lined with old guitars and musical memorabilia. The menu for thirsty patrons features the staples, like hot coffees, lattes, and espressos, (which are made with locally brewed coffees), as well as a big dose of real fruit smoothies, hand dipped milkshakes, blended frappes, and Mexican spiced hot cocoa. For something different, patrons can relax with a hot organic herbal tea, or try a Thai iced coffee or precious divinity spiced Chai. There’s also a selection of muffins, bagels, and healthy food options prepared by the Cape Fear region’s own Great Harvest Bread Company. Always tasty, and always relaxing, Grinder’s Café is where busy Wilmington locals go to enjoy a break from the daily grind.
