Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Brunswick area area. To get the best rental within budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Brunswick area restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the perfect rental:

  • To start, have your family select date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. \"Alee Side\" oceanfront 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

During your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
