Tips to get the best Wilmington rental home experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Brunswick area area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First and foremost, have your group choose dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Newly renovated 2 bedroom 1 bathroom cottage in the Brooklyn Arts District has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Have a great stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
