Tips to get the very best Brunswick area vacation rental experience:

When to visit Carolina Beach & When to book:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To book the largest rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Brunswick area attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking a perfect Brunswick area rental:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Beach, Please! Steps to Ocean has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Know before you go:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
