Whether your ideal coastal vacation involves sunbathing on the beach, swimming in the surf, fishing for your next big catch, exploring peaceful waterways by kayak or all of the above and more, Blu Malibu serves up the ultimate home base for all your island adventures. Located on a peaceful stretch of Oak Island’s West Beach, this oceanfront home is only a 3-min. walk from the Davis Canal boat ramp, where you can effortlessly load a boat, kayak or canoe into the quieter waters of Montgomery Slough.
Bright white walls and blue accents greet you as you enter into the open-concept living space on the main floor, and wooden beams draw the eye forward to the horizon and charming vistas of the Atlantic. Settle on the roomy sectional to stream your favorite show or catch the big game thanks to the cable package. The sturdy wooden dining table seats at least six comfortably, with bench seating along one side accepting for additional space. There are also an additional four seats available at the adjacent breakfast bar. The kitchen is completely equipped with everything you need to prepare during your stay and offers plenty of counterspace for meal preparation.
When it’s time to retire for the nighttime, each bedroom has its own TV for personal entertainment, and ceiling fans for comfort. On the east side of the bungalow, the oceanfront bedroom is furnished with a queen bed and a twin. A Jack and Jill bathroom connects through to a bedroom with a king bed. To the west, the oceanfront bedroom provides a queen bed and connects via a second Jack and Jill bathroom to another bedroom with both a queen and a twin bed. The final bedroom is located on the ground level and is accessible via an external staircase only. Here, you’ll find a queen bed and an attached private bathroom with a step-in shower stall. The ground level also provides a second full size refrigerator and microwave, along with a washer and dryer.
Under the home, an enclosed shower with hot and cold water makes rinsing the sand off before heading inside a breeze, and you’ll also find protected storage space for your beach equipment. Gaze at the horizon as you sway in the porch swing located in this shady space, which also provides a charcoal grille and picnic table for cooking out and additional seating for calming. Above, the open deck offers plenty of space to soak in the sun’s rays, and the forward crow’s nest with constructed-in bench seating is the ideal spot to keep an eye on the kids while staying out of the sand. Or getaway to the generous screened porch, kick back in an Adirondack chair and take a nap in the fresh sea air instead. Sip your morning coffee or late afternoon drink as you watch the sunlight reflect on the waves. No matter the season, your family will appreciate making lifelong memories at Blu Malibu.

Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Brunswick area vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to select the best rental home in Oak Island:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Blu Malibu: 5 Bed\/3 Bath Oceanfront Home, Walking Distance to Davis Canal. has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Have a great stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Call the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
