Strategies to get the optimal Brunswick area vacation home experience:

When to visit Holden Beach & When to book:

  • Summertime is high season in the Brunswick area area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many management companies supply Brunswick area area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing the bestrental:

  • Select your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Holden Beach masterpiece loaded with 6 bedrooms, 6.5 baths and stunning views has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. Otherwise, call the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a particular Brunswick area destination you simply love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
