Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • To book the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Brunswick area restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance.   • Does your group require special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
