Our top Vacation rental tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Ocean Isle Beach. To find the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting the perfect vacation home:

  • Start by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Dog Friendly 6 bedrooms total, sleeps 12, POOL has 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Brunswick area attraction you simply love, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Tips for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
