Strategies to get the perfect Brunswick area vacation home experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Brunswick area restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Filter your rental search:

  • Start by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. ????Salty Hammocks A2: Oceanfront, Shared Pool, Oceanfront Deck???? has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
