Carolina Beach rental home booking tips:
How to get the best value:
- To get the best value, consider changing your family's Brunswick area vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First and foremost, have your family choose a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. The Coral Door. 2 bdrm 1 bath Unit. Sleeps 5. Linens Included! Newly Listed 2024 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
