Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Oak Island. Book your rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Brunswick area area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking a perfect Brunswick area vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your family agree to a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Casa Bianca: Oceanfront Home Near the Point on the West End has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
