How to find the best vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by having your group choose trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Classic Beachfront Getaway w\/Patio, Deck, Central AC, Private Washer\/Dryer, WiFi has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your group.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
