When to go & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance.   • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
