2 Kings | 1 Twin | 2 Twin over-twin Bunk Beds | 1 Queen Sleeper Couch

The next time you visit Oak Island, ensure your time spent off the beach is a true After Dune Delight with a stay at this dog-friendly property featuring a 12' x 24' above-ground saltwater pool with decking and a wooden ledge inviting you to dangle your feet in the cool water. Walk to the Oak Island Nature Center, local ice cream stores and eateries or even to the beach - a public beach access point complete with bathrooms and rinse-off stations is less than a mile from your doorstep! Or rent the available golf cart for an additional fee of $600 per stay.

The welcoming front porch offers a variety of outdoor furnishings and a shaded respite for peaceful conversation as you watch the world go by. A wooden gate at the top of the steps means babies and fur-babies alike can join you safely as you savor the island breeze. Or relax on the screened back porch instead as you watch the sunlight filter through Oak Island's famed tress and listen to the kids splash happily in the pool below.

Gather together on the couch and loveseat to stream a favorite movie on the wall-mounted Roku TV, or curl up in one of the arm chairs with a good book instead. The dining table seats up to six, when you add additional chairs from the bedrooms, and an adjacent side bar table offers three barstools as well. The kitchen offers plenty of counter space for preparing meals or storing snacks for painless access. Everything you need to prepare meals is included, from appliances to cookware.

The master suite is furnished with a king bed and a TV for personal entertainment. The modest desk offers a spot to getaway with your laptop if work can't be entirely avoided during your stay. The attached private bathroom is equipped with a double vanity and a step-in shower stall with a constructed-in seat. The remaining two sleeping spaces on this level share access to a hall bathroom with a standard tub/shower combo. The second bedroom contains another king bed and TV, while the third bedroom offers a classic twin-over-twin bunk bed and an additional twin bed, along with another workstation and desk chair.

Downstairs, a separate suite is reached via a dedicated ground floor entrance (note there is no internal staircase connecting the upper and lower floor). Parlor on the sleeper couch as the game plays on the enormous TV, which pulls out to a queen bed if needed. A modest kitchen table for two offers space to eat breakfast quietly before venturing upstairs, and the open sleeping alcove just beyond provides a twin-over-twin bunk bed. The attached half bathroom also provides external access to the pool area and a convenient enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water.

Catch some rays from the pool deck on the supplied lounge chairs, or dine al fresco in the shade of the home at one of two tables seating a total of eight guests. Entering the above-ground pool is a breeze thanks to the wide wooden steps and a constructed-in ledge surrounding two sides. On the other side of the pool gate, you'll find plenty of driveaway parking and some covered parking space. You can even pull into the grass to the left of the driveway if you need more space!

When you're ready to hit the sand, grab the supplied beach chairs and travel less than a mile by foot, car, golf cart or even bicycle (two of the latter are available for your use so you can discover the island at your own pace). And when you've finally tired of the sand and surf, head back for some After Dune Delight and memories that will last a lifetime!

Please note that the pictured attached garage is not available for guest use.

Getting the best vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Oak Island. Booking in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • In the Brunswick area area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning, picking, and booking your prefectrental home:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. After Dune Delight: Dog-Friendly, Private Pool, Optional Golf Cart has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.

Know before you go:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
