You may have to endure an additional "Are we there yet?" from the backseat as you travel to this magnificant vacation rental at the westernmost end of Oak Island, but we promise that a stay at this pretty home is well worth the additional few mins. of drive time! Featuring vistas of the Intracoastal Waterway in a peaceful and beautiful neighborhood that is an island onto itself, modern elegance meets the serene beauty of nature at this coastal getaway.

Finest of all, the entire family is welcome here, with up to five dogs accepted per stay and an elevator to aid those with mobility concerns.

The open concept living space is decorated in relaxing blues and whites. Unwind together on the upsized sectional to watch a movie or bask in the glow of the fireplace. An additional couch further back against the wall means there's plenty of seating for everybody. This extends to the dining area, where a sturdy wooden table overlooks the waterway beyond. Thanks to the bench seating on one side, at least 10 can fit here comfortably, and an additional six seats are available at the kitchen island just opposite. A half bathroom is located around the corner for your convenience.

The gleaming kitchen is a chef's dream, complete with a gas range, stainless-steel appliances and plenty of counter space for meal preparation. The drawers and cabinets are well-outfitted with all the equipment you'll need for cooking, dining and serving. If you prefer to prepare outside and dine al fresco, you'll find a gas grille available and many outdoor seating options for meals, drinks or just calming.

The secondary master suite is also located on this level, furnished with a king bed and an en suite bath with step in shower. All bedrooms within the home provide a flatscreen TV for personal entertainment and a ceiling fan for comfort.

Downstairs, you'll find the rest of the bedrooms, including the primary suite. This room features a king bed, a massive walk in closet and changing area, and a handsome en suite bathroom. Sink into the soaking tub after a long day at the beach or rinse off in the walk in tile shower. You'll also appreciate direct deck access to a covered porch overlooking the water and comfortable outdoor lounges. You may also access this deck through the adjacent office space, which includes a modest desk with space for two and an easel.

Down the hallway, the guest suite features a queen bed and an attached private bath with step in shower. The final queen bedroom also has direct access to a full bathroom with a standard tub/shower combo that opens to the hall as well, directly opposite from the final bedroom. The bunkroom is furnished with three twin-over-twin murphy bunk beds and puffy bean bag chairs for relaxing. When sleep is over, fold the beds to the wall to reveal plenty of floor space for kids and teens to engage in games, creative play or perfecting the latest Tik Tok dance trend.

Even with all this charming home has to offer, you're bound to spend much of your time outside, where you'll find four levels of striking amenities to help you savor your stay to the fullest. From the expansive vistas found at the rooftop crow's nest and the covered porches on both main living levels, all the way to the enclosed outdoor shower and porch swing under the property and the firepit in the grassy backyard, there are plenty of spots to stop and enjoy the beauty all around you while appreciating the company of family, friends and fur-babies. We just know you'll never want to leave and as soon as you do depart, you'll already begin dreaming of next year's vacation and asking yourself- "Are we there yet?"

Our top Rental booking tips:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing the perfect rental:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Are we there yet? :Gorgeous Modern Home on Waterway has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your group.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
