Our top Rental home booking tips and tricks:

When to reserve a Brunswick area rental home & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Southport. To book the best rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Brunswick area restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to choose the perfect rental home:

  • Begin by choosing trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Centrally located/Beach&Downtown! Family-friendly w/pool across St/Pet Friendly! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If there's an individual Brunswick area destination you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your contract.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. message the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
