Tips for getting the best vacation rental experience:

Get the best rental home value:

  • To get the best value, change your family's Brunswick area vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Brunswick area area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and choosing the perfectvacation home:

  • Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Fountain's Folly: Coastal Retreat with Floating Pier and Crab Dock on Waterway has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If there's a particular Brunswick area destination you crave, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
