Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • To get the best vacation home within your budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Brunswick area attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Brunswick area area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Brunswick area area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the best vacation rental in Southport:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Private Home in Southport - at Oak Island Old Bridge has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
