Strategies to get the perfect Bald Head Island vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer time is high season in Bald Head Island. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Brunswick area area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

Narrow your Search:

  • Choose vacation week and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean View Villa 10 Updated to New Short Stroll to Ocean and BHI Club 5 Stars has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
