Our top Rental home tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- To get the best rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies supply Brunswick area area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the perfect rental:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Salty Hammocks B3 -- Oceanview, Pool, w\/ Linens Included has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
