Tips for getting the best Brunswick area rental home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, try changing your family's Brunswick area vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Brunswick area area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the best vacation home:

  • Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Cozy Pet Friendly Southern-Style Cottage Steps to the Beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
  • If there's a specific Brunswick area beach you crave, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
