Since this has been a family home for many years the kitchen is entirely supplied with all cooking necessities. The layout also works great for entertaining or hosting holiday meals. There is also a sizable desk that accepts for a great place remote work and we have a bluetooth linked printer you are welcome to use.

The dining area connects to the kitchen. It has a sizable dining table that seats up to 6 so a total of 10 people can be seated between the kitchen and dining area. This dining table over looks the striking azalea and palm tree filled backyard and has huge wall of glass windows and french doors.

Off the kitchen is the guest bedroom wing. 1st bedroom has two twin beds and a flip out chair bed appropriate for a kid. The 2nd bedroom has a queen size bed a flip out single bed for a kid and a platform twin blow up bed that can accommodate an adult or kid. This bedroom has a private porch overlooking the backyard and an en suite half bath. Between the two bedrooms is a full bathroom, freshly remodeled with a elegant tile shower, sink and toilet.

The sizable open living room connects to the dining/kitchen area and has two separate seating areas. The main area over looks the backyard through the enormous screened in porch. This area has cable TV, a gas burning fireplace and a new x- large comfortable Pottery Barn sectional. There's plenty of room for the whole family to savor a movie together of play games by the fire.

The master bedroom suite is located on its own floor and reached by a staircase off of the living room. It has a spectacular view overlooking the backyard of the Intercoastal waterway. Strategies to get the best Brunswick area vacation property experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Brunswick area trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Brunswick area area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectrental:

  • To start, have your family choose date ranges and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Waterway Retreat, fishing pier, bikes, kayak, paddleboard! has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your contract.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
