Tucked beneath handsome live oak trees, Island Hideaway provides a comfortable coastal getaway ideal for you and your four-legged friend. You're just a half mile away from two public beach accesses (SE 49th and SE 52nd Streets). Approximately .6 miles away is the NE 55th Street Municipal Boat Ramp, where you can launch a kayak or fishing boat.

As you walk into the front door, the living room greets you on the right with comfortable furnishings gathered around the flat screen TV. Off to the left you will find the dining room table with seating for six. The kitchen is finished with stainless steel appliances and welcoming blue cabinets.

Down the hall you will find a twin bunk bedroom ideal for the little ones. Across the hall is the shared bathroom to the queen bedroom with a flat screen TV.

The master bedroom sits in the back left of the home and features a queen bed and private bathroom.

Just off the kitchen and dining area, a screened porch provides a great spot to appreciate the island breeze. The porch leads into a backyard getaway ideal for calming after a fun day on the beach. Eat dinner or grab a drink for the outdoor dining area on the patio or light up the fire pit while your dog runs around the fenced in yard.

There is ample guest parking available in the driveway. This home is right down the street from plenty of shopping and local eateries as well as Publix so you can grab all of your vacation needs. Down the street towards the Intracoastal Waterway you will find the Oak Island Nature Center and Malcom Register Park roughly 0.6 miles away. Take a snack and sit under the cabana while you watch the boats sail by or drop a fishing line in the water to catch your own dinner! The Oak Island Nature Center features a tree trail, butterfly garden, floating dock, and fishing tee.

Please note the backyard shed is not available for guest use.

Strategies to get the perfect rental home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Summer months are high season in Oak Island. To find the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Brunswick area area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the perfect vacation home in Oak Island:

  • Start by having your family commit to date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Island Hideaway: Dog-friendly home right near Publix and the Oak Island Nature C has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
