Our top Brunswick area rental booking tips:
Finding the best rental value:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Brunswick area area. Booking in Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Brunswick area visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- To start, have your family commit to vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Ocean Views Great Location, Dog friendly Condo, Only 200 steps to Beach, No Parking Fees has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the host before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Brunswick area destination you crave, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
