Tricks and tips for getting the perfect rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Oak Island. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Brunswick area area visitor guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking a perfect Brunswick area rental:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Pelican Park: Dog-friendly Home Overlooking Canal with Backyard Fireplace, Just has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before booking your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
