Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer months are high season in the Brunswick area area. To get the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • In the Brunswick area area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting the best rental:

  • To start, have your family commit to date ranges and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Stuck in Parrotdise: Neighborhood Coastal Retreat with Amazing Outdoor Spaces has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.

Have a great stay:

  • We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
