Rental home booking tips and tricks:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Book your Brunswick area rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Brunswick area area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, selecting, and booking your Brunswick area rental home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Wonderful Wooded Area Home with Golf Cart - Only Mins From Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the host before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your trip.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
