Vacation rental booking tips:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Summer months are high season in Sunset Beach. Booking your Brunswick area vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

Choosing the perfect vacation rental:

  • First, have your group choose vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 282 Wild Thyme by Sunset Vacations has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If not, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
  • If there's a particular Brunswick area attraction you love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
