“Lekker” means simple, fun, and just right — and that’s exactly the feeling we want you to have the moment you arrive.
This traditional Oak Island beach bungalow is designed for families and groups who want to really relax. The open kitchen and dining area make it painless to prepare and gather together, while the roomy living room is ideal for winding down after a day at the beach.
Step outside to appreciate both front and back decks, including a screened-in porch that offers shade and relief from bugs — ideal for morning coffee or evening conversations.
Whether you’re here for beach days, bicycle rides, or simply time together, Lekker by the Sea is a comfortable, welcoming home base for your coastal hideaway.
Something *very* important to note: the home is currently under remodel, which is why the photos are limited. We began in October 2025 and have now completely finished the interior updates! We are installing furnishings over the next two weeks and expect to have full photos available in mid April. We also are in the process of installing the pool as shown in the photos. I will continue to update the photos as we have them! The property is priced accordingly, knowing it might feel a little risky to book something that will look dramatically different by the time you arrive.

Located by the sea, this vacation home is in Long Beach, a neighborhood in Oak Island. Oak Island Golf Club and The Reserve Golf Club at St. James Plantation are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Caswell Beach and 57th Place West Access Park. North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport and Magic Mountain Fun Park are also worth visiting. Looking to get your feet wet? Kayaking, surfing/body boarding and fishing adventures can be found near the property.
