Rental home tips and tricks:

When to visit Bald Head Island & When to reserve a Brunswick area rental home:

  • Summer months are high season in Bald Head Island. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Brunswick area area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Cozy cottage close to ferry & lighthouse. Large screened in porch with golf course view has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a particular Brunswick area beach you are enamored with, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
