Getting the best rental home experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best value, change your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Choosing and booking a perfect Brunswick area rental home:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Mountains to Sea: Bring Your Boat to this Rustic Coastal Retreat! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
