Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Bald Head Island. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, picking, and booking your Brunswick area rental:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Nature Lovers Dream Home Light & Bright Nestled in the Live Oaks Both Clubs has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs applied to your contract.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
