About this Property

  • Private vacation home

"Happiness Comes in Waves" is the ideal spot for an island hideaway! It's just steps from the beach, but is a secluded setting that backs up to the Davis Canal tidal marsh with a private pier that you can drop a line in the water or a crab trap (one of only two private piers in the area). The property is fourth row back and a fast 2-min. walk to the beach with painless access. Unwind on the front deck and fall asleep listening to sounds of the ocean!

This property features 3 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths plus an additional outdoor shower with hot/cold water for use during the summer months. The kitchen was freshly completely refreshed, with ample cabinet storage space and is well equipped (pots, pans, blender, electric griddle, toaster oven, coffee maker (standard and Keurig), hand mixer, crockpot, etc) to meet all of your cooking needs.

The inside dining table has four chairs, plus we have two folding chairs, plastic deck chairs, and out on the deck is a wrought-iron table with four chairs.

Bedroom 1 has a king bed. Bedroom 2 includes two sets of bunk beds (the top bunk beds are only for kids). Bedroom 3 has a queen bed. There is also a queen-sized pullout couch sleeper in the living room.

Linens are NOT included but the property does include pillows, blankets, and comforters/quilts for all beds and the couch sleeper. You can bring your own sheets and towels, or rent them from Sharon's Linens on Oak Island (if you do this, we've heard that Sharon's can be sold out in peak season, so contact them early).

All bedrooms and the living room have ceiling fans. The ceiling fan/light in the living room is operated by remote control.

The property includes a Roku TV and high-speed Internet access and WiFi.

This is a pet friendly property with a max. of 2 family pets allowed (dogs only, owner is allergic to cats). Dogs must weigh under 100 lbs and there is a non-returnable pet fee of $120. Owners must clean up the yard after their pets -- there will be an additional fee for each pile of poop that is left in the yard after your stay!

The deck has a gas grille, plus the table and chairs to savor your morning coffee or evening drink. There's a wagon to haul your gear over to the beach. And there's a hose available to wash all those things down when you come back from the beach.

An ice shack is two blocks away to fill your cooler. It's next door to a convenience store for anything you might've forgotten.

A washer/dryer is in the half-bath.

How to find the best Oak Island vacation rental experience:

Get the best value:

  • To find the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • In the Brunswick area area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning and picking the best Brunswick area rental home:

  • Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Quiet beach house steps away from the ocean with private pier to view the marsh. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a fantastic stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
