Booking the best vacation property experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Bald Head Island. To book the largest rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Brunswick area area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book the bestrental home:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Cozy Cottage, Old Baldy Lighthouse Views, BHI has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is best for your vacation.
- If there's a particular Brunswick area beach you simply love, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
During your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
