Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area travel guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the perfect rental home in Wilmington:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Relaxing ocean cottage on Figure Eight Island has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a particular Brunswick area attraction you are enamored with, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Advice for your stay:

  • Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
