Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Brunswick area vacation property experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are high season in the Brunswick area area. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Brunswick area area:

  • Start by having your group commit to dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. 215 Southern Skye by Sunset Vacations has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your family.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a specific Brunswick area attraction you crave, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Tips to have a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
