Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Oak Island rental home:
- Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Brunswick area area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Brunswick area area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best vacation home in Oak Island:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Oak Islands. Donovan's Reef has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If there's a particular Brunswick area attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
